Why teams switch

When Framer starts to feel tight

01

The CMS carries more than the blog

Integrations, use cases, case studies and a glossary are linked through reference fields. Webflow handles this with Collections, CSV import and a CMS API you can connect to other systems.

02

More people work on the site

Product marketing, content and demand gen edit pages in parallel. Webflow roles such as Designer, Marketer and Content Editor separate who changes the design system from who only changes content.

03

Changes need sign-off

Reviewers check pages in Webflow through comments without editing anything. On Enterprise, page branches can require approval before they go live.

04

Languages with their own content

With Webflow Localization, each locale has its own CMS items and its own folder such as /de/. One market can show case studies another market doesn't.

What moves

What comes over from Framer

Content and URLs move. Anything that was built on the canvas, we rebuild in Webflow.

  • Migrated
  • Partly
  • Rebuilt
  • Replaced
  • CMS content

    Migrated

We export each collection with CMS Export as CSV, check the field types and import it into the matching Webflow Collection.

  • Page copy

    Partly

Copy on static pages lives in the layout, not in the CMS. We carry it over page by page and check it against the live site.

  • SEO data and redirects

    Migrated

Page titles and descriptions move page by page. Existing redirects come out of Redirect Sync as CSV and we rewrite the wildcards into Webflow syntax.

  • Language versions

    Partly

Translations from Framer Localization move into Webflow Localization. Whether translated slugs are available depends on the Localization plan.

  • Layouts and breakpoints

    Rebuilt

We rebuild pages in Webflow with classes and variables for desktop, tablet and mobile.

  • Components

    Rebuilt

Framer components with variants become Webflow components with properties your team fills in without a designer.

  • Effects and code components

    Replaced

Scroll and hover effects are rebuilt with Webflow Interactions. Custom React components are replaced by Webflow features, apps or custom code.

  • Forms

    Rebuilt

Forms and where they send data, such as HubSpot or a webhook, are rebuilt and every submission is tested before launch.

For your marketing

What keeps running for your marketing

Rankings are only one part. We also protect everything your team uses to measure leads and pipeline.

Tracking and attribution

GA4, the tag manager, UTM parameters and conversion events keep running from day one. In Webflow we add the tag manager once, site-wide, behind your consent banner. Before launch we compare every event on staging with the old site.

Forms and CRM

We replace Framer forms with Webflow forms or embedded HubSpot forms. Fields, hidden fields for the lead source and the handover to HubSpot, Salesforce or Pipedrive stay the same. We check test leads right in the CRM.

Demo booking

Demo and contact pages, calendars like HubSpot Meetings, Calendly or Chili Piper and your chat stay in place. Old demo URLs from ads, emails and sales decks redirect straight to the new page.

Visibility in AI search

Structured data, clear headings and an up-to-date sitemap are in place from launch. That helps Google and AI search like ChatGPT or Perplexity find your pages again quickly.

To be honest

When you should stay on Framer

  • A small team runs the site

If two people design and publish everything themselves, Webflow's roles and approvals add little.

  • Few pages, no structured CMS

A product page, a blog and a few landing pages: Framer handles that and a move costs more than it returns.

  • The design changes every week

If you keep experimenting with layouts and effects, Framer's free canvas is faster than a design system.

  • Framer already covers your workflow

Framer has staging, branches and deploy permissions too. If that is enough for your team, switching won't solve a real problem.

Frequently asked questions about migrating from Framer to Webflow

What B2B SaaS teams want to know before moving from Framer to Webflow.

Can Webflow import a Framer project?

No. CMS content moves via CSV, layouts and components are rebuilt in Webflow. Your design can stay the same.

How do we get our CMS content out of Framer?

With CMS Export, a plugin by Framer that outputs each collection as a CSV file. We map the columns to Webflow fields and import one collection at a time.

What happens to animations and code components?

Effects are rebuilt with Webflow Interactions. For custom React components we find a Webflow feature or an app, or rebuild them as custom code.

Will our URLs stay the same?

For static pages, usually yes. CMS pages in Webflow sit under a collection path plus slug. Wherever that changes a URL, a 301 redirect takes over.

What about our language versions?

Translations move into Webflow Localization, with separate CMS items per language. Which features your plan includes, such as translated slugs, we clarify in the inventory.

Does Framer stay live until launch?

Yes. Your site stays online unchanged until the domain switches. Content created in the meantime is moved over before launch.
